A study on the cost analysis of a rare disease: Multiple myeloma

Multipl Myelom (MM) effects quality of life negatively. But it has a lot of different treatment choices. Altough has low prevelance rate in Turkey. The cost of Multipl Myelom is very high. The aim of the study is to determine cost of Multipl Myelom from the perspectives of Social Security Insurance. In the study, the cost of Multipl Myelom was calculated for one patient as an avereage. At the sometime whole health technologies were included. Treatment stages were first, second and third. All calculations were based on Official Health Bulletin. In addition drug prices were taken by Rx Media Pharma Programme. Consequently one of the Multıpl Myeloma patient averagely was 53.684,56 TL per a year.
