Abstract (EN)
DEPENDENCE OF THE TOTAL B(M1) STRENGTH ON THENUCLEON NUMBER FOR THE RARE-EARTH NUCLEIRecep KOÇSUMMARYKey words: Rare-Earth Nuclei, magnetic dipole transitions, scissors mode, quazi-particleIn this thesis, after giving brief information about the nuclear models, secondquantization method, Quasi-Particle Random Phase Approximation (QRPA) andmagnetic dipole excitations, the total B(M1) strengths are investigated in the scissorsmode region (2.7-3.7 MeV) in terms of the neutron, proton and nucleons numbers forthe rare-earth elements. Calculations are performed in the framework of the QRPAmethod and the results are compared with the experimental results.Even though the number of the energy levels, energy values and the correspondingB(M1) strengths are not completely consistent with the experimental results, ageneral agreement is seen. Especially behaviour of the B(M1) with respect to thenucleon number is quite consistent with the experimental values.x
