The role of grammatical prepositions in understanding an Arabic text correctly – Analysis of Quran translations in this context

Throughout Islamic history, studies conducted to understand the Quran have always kept the interest in Arabic have valued the branches of science that examine the structure of this language. Undoubtedly, studies in the field of the Quran, hadiths and Islamic sciences based on them require mastery of Arabic, and mastery of Arabic necessitates well-programmed, qualified language education. Based on this consideration, this study aims to show to some extent the problems that may arise in case of negligence of education and studies on prepositions. The prepositions which constitute an important part of Arabic, consist of two mains sections; one being the introduction and the other following. The introduction section of the study explains the subject, purpose, importance and method of the research. Then information is provided on language, thought, linguistics, and the types of words, namely noun, verb and letter. The first section; emphasizes on the functions and richness of meanings of the particles classified according to their usage in detail, as well as making explanations about these particles with various sentences and examples from Quranic verses. In the second part, it was examined whether the particles were correctly reflected in some translations in line with the information given. The translations were compared and evaluations were made with the evidence presented in this direction. Under the title of Conclusion, the findings obtained at the end of the study were summarized, and the identified problems and solution suggestions were presented to prevent possible mistakes in the future.
