Abstract (EN)

Ottoman Empire began to feel Europe?s political and cultural impacts strongly at the 19.th century. The Turkish intellectuals of this period followed the Western culture as a wiev of a new kind of civilization and tried to adopt a particular attitude. This new concept which had different dynamics from Ottoman culture referred the Ottoman intellectuals to a serious activity of appreciation and analysis.Namık Kemal was one of the most important intellectual of the period, and his kinds of works completed at different times reflect his own activity of appreciation and analysis. Namık Kemal also had a deep impact with his ideas in this period as a thinker more than a artist. His manner against to Europe and his ideas manifested in his works can be seen most clearly from his letters and papers. His literary works was analysed from different perpectives. The aim of this work is to analyse his ideas and basic points of his ideas. İn our work we try to prove basic points of his ideas with reference to his papers and letters.
