Abstract (EN)
In various industries such as textile, paper, printing, plastics, food and cosmetics, various dyestuff are used. Colorful waste water enters the environment through many industries. In this study, wild chestnut was modified as a highly efficient adsorbent for methylene blue (MB) removal. Additionally, it was used to remove methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solutions by adding magnetic property to the outer shell of the wıld chestnut. Iron (III) chloride hexahydrate and Iron (II) sulfate heptahydrate were used to give magnetic properties to the wild chestnut outer shell in nanoscale. Nano-sized materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Moreover, nano-sized particles wıth magnetic property of pH (2-9), dye concentration (25-150 mg / L), adsorbent dosage (0,1-0,5), temperature (298-318K) and contact time (0-240 min) were observed at 130 rpm during the adsorption process. The experiments were carried out at a UV-visible spectrophotometer wavelength of 664 nm and using different parameters. In order to remove MB color dyes from aqueous solutions, the adsorption process was investigated as kinetics, equilibrium and thermodynamics. Studies on the effects of temperature and calculated thermodynamic parameters are based on the endothermic nature of the adsorption process and the differential in temperature. Maximum adsorption capacity was found to be 140,84 mg / g from Langmuir isotherm model. The adsorption / desorption circulation test showed good reusability performance up to the fourth cycle. Furthermore, considering all the results, the advantage of being produced from a cheap source, high adsorption capacity, and rapid procurement feasibility has led to a great promise for cleaning MB color dyes from aqueous solutions.
