Abstract (EN)
In the present study, corrosion resistance of in-situ Al-Cu/Al2O3 nano composites produced by conventional hot pressing method were investigated in 0,1M NaCl solution at the room temperature. Composites containing 80wt % Al and 20wt % CuO in the powder mixtures were prepared using different sintering time. Characterization studies of the composite were carried out by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD). Electrochemical corrosion susceptibility were evaluated by polarization techniques and corrosion resistance of composites was determined higher than the corrosion resistance of matrix alloy. Among the aluminium metal matrix composites which are prepared in different sintering periods, it is seen that C.2 sample, sintered under the 700MPa pressure and 1000 oC heat , has the highest corrosion resistance.
