Abstract (EN)
In this study the nanoparticle of cerium dioxide (CeO2) with high purity was synthesized via sol-gel method and then by hydrothermal treatment. The obtained CeO2 nanoparticles are crystalline and can readily be dispersed in water without any additional processing. The surface modification of nanoparticles was performed with Methyltriethoxysilane (MTEOS), 3-Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (AMMO) and 3-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GLYMO) in a polar solvent. The structure of the nano-CeO2 particles was characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), the size-distribution and zeta potential measurements of the nano-CeO2 particles were measured by Particle size Analyzer. Branauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analyzer was used to measure the surface of the powders. UV absorption properties of nano-CeO2 particles were investigated by UV/VIS/NIR spectrophotometry. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) was used for surface modification.
