Abstract (EN)
In this study, low density polyethylene (LDPE) products were doped in different ratios with 2-Hydroxy-4-Methoxybenzophenone (BP-3) and ZnO which have UV stabilizer properties and nanosized. The optical, electrical, structural, thermal and mechanical changes that are occured in these new polymers (nanocomposites) were studied in detail. For this purpose, besides making tensile testing measurements, in order to find out the optical, structural, mechanical and thermal changes, the new polymer nanocomposites were characterized by XRD, TG-DTA spectra and SEM images. Furthermore, the samples with zinc oxide which show luminescent properties were examined in terms of radioluminescence (RL) features. Radioluminescence spectrum showed characteristic peaks of zinc oxide all of the nanocomposites including ZnO. The intensity of the characteristic RL peaks at 390 nm (exciton peak) and 530 nm (mean peak) increased by increasing rates of nanopowder zinc oxide while adding BP-3 to the composites caused a decrease in intensity of radioluminescence. In mechanical test, for elongation at break, the nanocomposites with BP-3 has better treatment over the nanocomposites with ZnO but in the others have a reverse situation. In thermal analysis of the nanocomposites, PE is dominant over BP-3 and ZnO. The characteristic peaks for ZnO has been more apparent with the raising ratio of ZnO in the nanocomposites in XRD graphs. Because of this reasons, the best yield ratio in the nanocomposite is obtained in the sample of maximum rate of ZnO and BP-3 in the nanocomposite and SEM images also supports this situation.
