Folklore elements in Necdet Ekici's stories

Folklore is a science which studies traditions, customs, beliefs, cuisine, medicine, written or oral studies of the people who live in the same geography together. Folklore also specifies same of the rules and theories which are related with these studies and the relationship between them. With the regard of modernization, oral or written values decrease or disappear unfortunately. Folklore has directly or indirectly relation with several arts and scientific fields. Literature comes forward in this part. Due to the change brought up with modernization, it is obviously seen that there are some precious authors who resist against these kind of changes, firmly uses these conflicts in their works by feding their souls with tradition without no hesilation. Necdet Ekici is one the author of them. Necdet Ekici, one of the 1980 generation significant storywriter, submits the folkloric facts considering the town he was born and he lived in to his readers as a story. Folklore is so important fact in Ekici's stories. In the fields of stories beginning from Afşin to Dörtyol and Çukurova, Ekici is a kind of experienced writer who is really a master in the oral literary genres to the different kinds of beliefs and the way how they are used , combines both tradition and modernization in one pot. In this study, folkloric facts are searched which take place in the stories of Necdet Ekici such as Son Turnalar (2015), Yüreğimdeki Cemre (2016), Yüreğimi Sana Bıraktım (2016), Gül Olacaksın (2016), Çolpan Yıldızı (2018) and Nazlı Senem (2020) While Ekici's stories are being searched with folkloric forms, descriptive / content, data analysis approach was chosen from the method of qualitative research. These stories indicate the folkloric details based on the memory of public. The folkloric elements emphasized in these stories are absolutely unique about the way they are used, being the simile and reflecting the different cultural features regardless of their intense of usage. In our search the elements of folklore were determined in these six books of Ekici. As a result of our searching folklore elements in the stories are evaluated.
