Abstract (EN)
In this study, biochemical and hematological variables were investigated in 180 patients (females) aged 17-75 years old, hospitalized in the orthopedic clinic of Najaf Al-Sadr Training Hospital in Nagif, Iraq, between April and July 2023. In the study, four different groups were created: women with osteoporosis between the ages of 22, pregnant women between the ages of 17-37, menopausal women between the ages of 45-75, and healthy women between the ages of 19-65, and 45 female patients were studied in each group. Biochemical variables such as Cathepsin K concentration level, Estradiol concentration, Vit -D, and PTH concentration were evaluated in osteoporotic, menopausal, pregnant, and healthy women. In addition, hematological variables such as blood cells (RBCs), hemoglobin (Hb) and hematocrit (HCT), PLT count, and number of white blood cells (WBCs) were evaluated in different study groups. Phosphate concentration (P) and Body Mass Index (BMI) were also estimated. At the end of the analyses, the correlation test for each variable in different study groups was calculated with the Statistica program. According to the results obtained, there was a significant decrease in the number of white blood cells, cathepsin concentration, parathyroid hormone, phosphate and vitamin D concentrations, and mass index compared to the control group. In the study group for pregnant women, there was a significant increase in the E hormone and a decrease in red blood cells and Hb compared to the control group. A significant decrease in the E hormone was observed in menopausal women with osteoporosis compared to the control group. There is a significant increase in the number of PLTs in the group of women with osteoporosis and women in menopause compared to the control group, as it was concluded from this study that there is a close correlation between some different variables, including a good correlation. The correlation coefficient between BMI and PLT was found to be 0.83, which may confirm that BMI is associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, possibly through various molecular mechanisms linking metabolic syndrome to hemostatic and vascular abnormalities; in addition, a good correlation was observed between PTH and Cat-k (0.89), indicating a relationship between these two parameters.
