Abstract (EN)

In Turkey attempts to build a new higher education institution started towards the middle of XIX. century. Giving the name 'dârü'l-fünûn' which means 'house of sciences' to this organization revealed that it was a different institution from the madrasa under the conditions of that period. Dârü'l-fünûn idea emerged on the basis of public education subject in Tanzimat period. The issue of simplification in Turkish is a great importance for public education. When Necip Âsım Yazıksız who is accepted as founder of Turcology Department in Dârü'l-Fünûn one of the pioneers of the language science in Turkey was defending the simplification of Turkish on the other hand he did studies to solve foreign compounds in the language. He recommended the use of the necessary words that are taken both from Arabi and Persian, and from European languages, the examination of the same meaning ones and the choosing of the suitable one for our language and the removal of the other. Necip Âsım, who was appointed as the Turkish History and Turkish Language Professor by the Ministry of Education in 1913, focused on these issues of Turkish language in his "ilm-i lisan" lessons he gave in Dârü'l-fünûn. In this study, the scientific articles consisting of Necip Âsım's Dârü'l-fünûn lecture notes were transferred to today's letters and the dictionary of the words in the article texts was formed.
