Architectural, object and clothes in Divan of Nedim

Our study is focused on the Divan of Nedîm, a 18th century poet, and the components related with the architecture, objects and clothes included in the Divan are analyzed. During this process, whole Divan is reviewed and all materials obtained this way are classified on the basis of the theses project. At the end of classification works, materials obtained are evaluated and the evaluation is supported with examples.As all other poets, Nedîm reflected the social life and the culture of his era to his poems as well. However, due to his close relations with the Palace and his fondness of pleasures and entertainment, Nedîm used beautiful and pompous items in his poems so much. These include the best architectural structures, most useful objects and the brand new clothes of his era. As a matter of fact, most of the staves examined are full of expressions making reference to these three components. Anyway, Nedîm is always associated with material. Poet frequently reflects his fondness of material world in his poems.Our study enables developing an idea about the architectural characteristics and pleasures of the era concerned, learning about the objects used and their use areas, and imaging the clothes worn at that time.Custom and usages, believes and idioms, which are verbal culture components, of that era are also included in the scope of our study as well as the material culture components given in the poems. Moreover, with the data obtained from the Divan, opinions that shed light on the belief and mentality of Nedîm are given from time to time in the course of the study.Key Words: Nedim, architectural, object, clothes.
