Examination of structure and theme in the novels of Nedi̇m Gürsel

Nedim Gürsel who has been known with his apprehension on genuine novel in the line of postmodernism in Turkish Literature has been seen as an artist who describes writing acquisition as an existentialist form. It is possible to say that this interest of visual elements which has taken a vital place in the synthesis of east and west locating in his novels is a conclusion of this situation. Whilst the author has put his novels into fiction presenting a small world, it has been seen that the situation has brought in the human and environment relationship a psychological dimension. In this work, structure and theme examination has been performed. In the structure and theme examination, Şerif Aktaş's "Anlatma Esasına Bağlı Edebi Metinlerin Tahlili (Teori ve Uygulama)" has been based on. In this respect in the work's first section, Nedim Gürsel's life, manuscript experience and his works has been transferred. In the second section, with the title of his novels' structures, for each of his novels, evaluations has been taken at hand seperately. The novels has been examined in the titles of mindset, structure, plot and plot order, characters, time, place, language commentary and point of view. In the third section, themes of the novels has been stated as woman and sexuality, history, violence and death, mythology and religious elements, rebellion, freedom and loneliness in the title of themes of his novels. While evaluating the novels, descriptive literary surveillance technique has been used as well.
