Özet (EN)

We are found to be examining the physical elements in the Turkish Divan of Nef?i, one among poets of the 17th century. Our reason for concentrating our study on the divan?s physical elements was to provide an answer for criticisms made about the Divan Literature on the topic of ?being dissociated from public and social life?. As we got on the road with this goal in mind, our preference has been a poet like Nef?i, who has blazed the trail, has been a school during and after his time. As known, Nef?i is among the most renowned poets of Turkish Literature?s eulogia fahriye poems. Another reason for our choice of him is due to each one of his poems carrying the quality of a historical document illuminating its own time frame. Nef?i, nearly in each one of whose poems is found Sultan Ahmet, Sultan Murat and other government members, seems to have provided an answer centuries ago with his Turkish Divan to those evaluating Divan Literature as being dissociated from the public, social life and being wholly composed of poetic dreams. As our study is examined, it will be seen that each element is considered on its own and number of their use within the work is given one by one. As viewed in general, the word groups vastly repeated within the work being closely related with our poet?s nature and life style draws attention. For example; within the divan ?elements related to war? is among the most vastly repeated words. This matter is in relation with both our poet?s nature of being plain ? spoken, and his presentation of his eulogia generally to the period?s padishahs and pashas.Briefly, as examination of the physical elements within the work helps us better understand the poet, his life style, and personality; it has shown us that it is necessary for us to reconsider inappropriate criticisms generally about Divan Literature.
