Abstract (EN)
Cervical cancer; Is the second most common cancer type seen in women after breast cancer. Cervical cancer has a long latent phase. Papsmear from various screening tests, HPV DNA test, visual inspection with acetic acid and guinea pig, etc., can be easily diagnosed at an early stage. Within the scope of cervical cancer screening, colposcopy is performed as a top-level examination of a patient with HPV DNA positivity or abnormal cytology. In this study, it is aimed to scientifically evaluate the effect of routine cervical biopsy on the detection of cervical intraepithelial lesions in patients with normal colposcopic findings. A retrospective study of 120 patients with abnormal smear results. All patients underwent colposcopy. Estimation of colposcopic-specific dysplasia grade was classified as LGCIN (Low Grade Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia), HGCIN (High Grade Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia) and invasive disease. ECC (Endocervical Canal Curettage) was performed in patients with inadequate colposcopic examination or in whom no lesion was observed when there was sufficient colposcopic examination and smear ending HGSIL. Histology results were negative, LGCIN, HGCIN and invasive disease. In our study, pathology that could be missed in patients with 4 quadrant biopsies was found to be significant in detection.
