Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, Nepeta phyllochlamys P.H. Davis species, which belongs to Lamiaceae family and is a locally endemic species, were studied. Specimens of N. phyllochlamys were collected from different populations and their morphological and anatomical features were examined it was seen that the findings were compatible with the species descriptions in the Flora of Turkey. In addition, the relationship between the morphological and phytochemical characteristics of individuals in different populations in the natural distribution areas of the species has been revealed and molecular studies have been carried out to determine genetic variations, essential oil components, and biological effects of extracts. As a result of the antioxidant (DPPH• test), antibacterial, anticandidal, and total phenol amount tests, it was determined that the plant was not active remarkably. However, the experiments carried out within this thesis are important in terms of bringing the data to the literature. In our thesis study, it was observed that the main components of the species collected from different localities consisted of components such as caryophyllene oxide, β-pinene, linalool, T-cadinol, α-pinene and 14-nor-cadin-5-en-4-one (isomer A). DNA sequence analyzes showed that N. phyllochlamys was 96% similar to cataria. In the dendrogram created according to blast analysis, it was determined that they formed clusters with N. heliotropifolia, N. cataria and N. grandiflora species.
