Investigation of polen concentration in Nevşehir atmosphere

The subject of this study is the investigation of atmospheric pollens of Nevşehir (Center) province. Pollen samples were collected between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2019 using a volumetric Burkard device. The taxa whose pollens were found in the atmosphere of Nevşehir and their pollen concentration were determined as the amount in 1 m3 per day, weekly, monthly, and annual pollen data were prepared by collecting the daily concentrations and presented in tables, graphics, and calendars. In addition, the relationships of dominant taxa data with meteorological parameters were investigated using the Pearson correlation test. According to the analysis data of the collected samples, a total of 64 067 pollen belonging to 30 different taxa was detected in the atmosphere of Nevşehir in 6 years. Of the 30 taxa, 19 are woody taxa and 11 are herbaceous taxa. 54 688 pollen (85‚4%) of the total pollen amount belongs to woody taxa and 9 379 pollen (14‚6%) belongs to herbaceous taxa. While a total of 7 937 pollen belonging to 30 taxa were detected in 2014. In 2015, a total of 11 332 pollen belonging to 30 taxa were determined. In 2016, a total of 10 349 pollen belonging to 30 taxa; In 2017, a total of 14 408 pollen belonging to 29 taxa; In 2018, a total of 8 610 pollen belonging to 30 taxa and finally 11 431 pollen belonging to 30 taxa were counted in 2019. According to the six-year data Pinaceae (35‚0%), Cupressaceae (34‚1%), Amaranthaceae (5‚7%), Quercus (4‚4%), Poaceae (2‚3%), Artemisia (2‚3%), Ambrosia (1.6%), Populus (1.5%), Betula (1‚5%), Salix (1‚3%) and Fraxinus (1‚2%) species are the most common taxa that determined. The highest monthly total pollen amount by years is in May from 2014 to 2017; It was recorded in February of 2018 and in April 2019. As a result, the highest amount of pollen was recorded in 2017 and the highest monthly pollen amount in May during the study. Six-year pollen calendar of Nevşehir was prepared with the study.
