Abstract (EN)
Within the scope of this study, domestic solid waste management system and zero waste application studies were examined throughout Nevşehir province. In this context, the data carried out by cappadocia provincial special administrations and municipalities association between 2015-2021 were evaluated through collection, transportation, recovery and disposal procedures. While kitchen wastes constituted the composition of domestic wastes produced with a ratio of 52.71%, it was determined as 4.97% paper/cardboard, 4.95% plastic, 1.85% glass and 0.72% metal waste as recyclable packaging wastes. The amount of waste collected following the establishment of the association was approximately 60392 tons in 2015, while it was 63572 tons in 2016, 61053 tons in 2017, 78990 tons in 2018, 83973 tons in 2019, 81295 tons in 2020 and 88663 in 2021. Mixed packaging waste amounts and recycling data based on the total amount of waste collected in Nevşehir city center by year 2018.on the total amount of waste collected in Nevşehir city center and the annual recovery rate for 2018 was 3.35%, the recovery rate in 2019 was 5.14% and in 2020, when the covid-19 outbreak began, 3.67%.In 2021, it was determined as 3.30%. It has been determined that Hacıbektaş District, which has a population of 10958 in 2020, does not give waste to the union in the management of domestic waste, whose collection, transportation, recycling and disposal processes have been continuing since 2015, and waste was given in 2021. In addition, the disposal of medical wastes formed in the period between 2014-2018 was examined, and collection and disposal processes were investigated and it was determined that approximately 203 tons of medical waste in the study area was sterilized and disposed of in the sanitary landfill. Waste recovery amounts were examined while the number of municipalities, number of waste collection centers, composting plant and production quantity, number of waste collection boxes, number of temporary waste storages, number of working people and training studies were recorded within the scope of zero waste studies. In the studies, the highest recovery rate for the 4-year period (2018-2021) was 88.01% paper-carton, plastic waste with 9.87% and other wastes (glass, battery, vegetable oil, waste engine oil and waste electrical and electronic goods) with 2.12%. When the zero waste studies of Nevşehir province were evaluated in general on the basis of certification, it was determined that the number of institutions applying for zero waste system until March 2021 was 849, the number of documents received was 913 and the number of cancelled documents was 4.
