Abstract (EN)
The application of tribolgy in medicine and biology is a growing and rapidly expanding engineering field. It necessarily builds upon the fundamentals of engineering tribology, and extends well beyond conventional boundaries. Biomedical tribological systems involve an extensive range of synthetic materials and natural tissues, which often operate in complex interactive biological environments. In this study, The samples have been produced from Ni-Cr-Mo alloy which have been used frequently on dental crown production, with uniform open-cell structure by the invesment casting method and using polyurethane foam models. Strain test, microhardness and metalographic investigation were done to the samples for determining the features of mechanic and microstructure of produced samples. For the aim of trying produced samples in vivo conditions, produced implants were implanted to the dogs for various periods, at the end of the period, the implants were removed from the dogs with enviroment tissue. The biocompatibility of implant materials has been searched by making the histopathology examination of implant and enviroment tissue. At the end of the study; controllability in the sizes of pore was achieved by using polyurethane models with different cell (pore) sizes. The Alloy causes any pathology, infections and reactions in the cell tissues and its biocompatibility is proved.Key Words: Investment casting, Open cell structure, Ni based Alloys, Implant alloys, Biocompatibility
