Abstract (EN)
At this postgraduate thesis, the work "Dead Souls" from one of the leading authors in Russian Literature Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol (1809-1852) is reviewed in the context of Mikhail Mikhailovich Bakhtin's Menippean Satire elements. Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol deals with the society by its vital details with a great care in his works in which he draws absurd view of social disruptions encountered in Russia. Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol has an important place in literature tradition, not only in terms of dealing with the problems of Russian society, but also his treatment of these issues. Our research subject in principle is- in the light of Mikhail Mikhailovich Bakhtin's theory which has important contributions to the philosophy and esthetics field besides literature- to review the evolution of ancient Menippean Satire into modern Saga, prose-roman form, and the trace with the ancient tradition in one of the most successful Works of Russian literature "Dead Souls". Our purpose, within this context, with the occurrence of form "Satire" and its features is to evaluate Menippean Satire, which never abstains expressing ironic and harsh criticism to every kind of organizational and social structure, and its evolution at Gogol in the frame of Mikhail Mikhailovich Bakhtin's theory.
