Early hadith studies in Nişhapur

This study aims at ascertaining the hadith studies in the first three centuries of the Hegira in Nishapur, the most salient city in the vicinity of the Khurasan. The study consists of three sections: In the first section, the biographies of the muhaddithûn / hadith scholars who lived in the Nishapur region are mentioned. In this chapter, the information about the muhaddithûn of the area and their works is in full scope given. In the second section, the branches and specialities of the Nishapur muhaddithûn are detailed. By concentrating on the works done by these muhaddithûn, the special interests of them are tried to be ascertained. In the last section, the nature and character of the works written in Nishapur are explained and the works still available and usable today are mentioned explicitly. In the last part of the section, the contribution to the science of Hadith made by the hadith studies of the Nishapur region is explicated.
