Abstract (EN)

In this study, a functional graded material consisted of NiTi (at %50Ni,%50Ti) NiAl (at %50 Ni) and Ni3Al (at %75 Ni) by SHS technique. Ni, Ti and Al powders were mixed in a rotating container fixed the at a lathe at 16 rpm at the proportions given above for 24 hours. Mixed powder was cold compacted under 100 MPa, 150 MPa and 200 MPa then the compacts were heated to 200 °C, 300 °C and 400 °C followed by igniting with high voltage under argon atmosphere to prevent oxidation. Combustion front propagated quickly after ignition. In this way, Ni3Al/NiAl/NiTi functional graded material was produced by SHS. In the study, different production parameters were used considering related literature and changes in microstructure and macrostructure were investigated. It was seen that production parameters had a big importance on microstructure and process itself. It was also understood that the microstructures composed of Ni3Al, NiAl and NiTi and there were other phases such as NiTiAl, TiAl3 and TiAl. In the first chapter, the study is introduced. In the second chapter, a comprehensive literature is presented. In the third chapter functional graded material and intermetallics are discussed. In the fourth chapter experimental studies, in the fifth chapter the results of the experiments are given. The last chapter or 6th chapter includes conclusions and recommendations.
