Abstract (EN)
N-nitroso N-ethyl (ENU) is a strong mutagen known as DNA alkylating. It interrupts the pairing sequence of bases during the pairing of base pairs in DNA and damages the DNA structure. In addition, ENU is a substance that induces certain tumors. In this study, the changes in ovarian Zebra fish ovary were applied to the Zebra fish of ENU and histologically investigated. A total of 5 groups were formed, not one control and four experimental groups. Four female zebrafish were used in each group. 0.25 and 0.50 mM ENU was applied to the experimental groups. Experimental groups 1 and 2 were exposed to these doses for only 1 hour, while experimental groups 3 and 4 were exposed to 0.25 and 0.50 mM ENU in the form of 1 + 1 hour at 3-day intervals. At the end of the fifth day, all the fish were dissected. Routine histological procedures were applied to the zebrafish ovarian tissue. Histological examinations revealed changes in the ovaries of female zebra fish exposed to ENU. As a result of 0.5 mM ENU treatment, degeneration of oocytes, thickening of zona radiata, increased connective tissue were observed in zebrafish ovarium compared to control and 0.25 mM group. N-nitroso N-ethyl (ENU) was found to cause histopathological changes in the zebrafish ovarian structure. Due to these changes, it was observed that malnutrition capacity of female zebrafish decreased.
