Abstract (EN)
Population characterization of Didymella rabiei, the Ascochyta blight agent has importance since the disease cause yield and quality loss in chickpea that is an economically important crop plant in our country. This study investigated genetic variance of 50 D. rabiei isolates collected from chickpea growing areas that consisted of different virulence levels (Pathotype I, Pathotype II, Pathotype III, Pathotype IV and low virulence) with 15 RAPD and 9 ISSR markers. Repeatable band profiles were obtained with 8 RAPD and ISSR markers. A total of 4 markers generated polymorphic profile belonging to RAPD (1 primer) and ISSR (3 primers). No correlation was observed among marker systems and pathotypes, geographic distribution and mating type groups of the D. rabiei isolates.
