Abstract (EN)

Aim: NHL is heterogen disease and describes several lymphoproliferative malignant diseases with different clinical and histological appearances. The most commonly observed histopathological type is Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, accounting for about %40 of the cases. In this retrospective study, we aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics of our NHL patients, response to treatment, survival rates and factors affected overall survival. Material and Method: This study included three hundred eighthy six NHL patients who had been followed in the İnönü University Haematology Department between January 2000-December 2016. We have carried out a retrospective analysis of 386 non-Hodgkin's lymphomas with the purpose of evaluating the clinicopathologic features of these patients. The patients were assessed with regard to their characteristics including age, gender, histologic distribution, stage, extranodal involvement, presentig semptoms, biopsied site, advanced stage, bone marrow and spleen involvement, IPI score and presence of B symptoms. The patients were classified according to the Working Formulation (WF) system as Low grade, intermediate grade and high grade. According to the Ann Arbor staging system, the vast majority of patients were advanced stage. The clinical characteristics, response rates, overall survival rates and prognostic factors were reviewed retrospectively. Results: The mean age of the patients was 57.25±16,22 (18-94 years) years; was similar in the western countries, but were higher than the country average. The male patients were more in number than the female patients as like with all the world. DLBCL was the most common subtype in accordance with the literature. Follicular lymphomas are less common in the Turkey when compared with the Western World. The frequency of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is increasing annualy all over the world and subtypes of lymphoma's distribution pattern is affected by geographic, racial and environmental factors which is the cause of regional variety. There are great differences in the incidence of the extranodal lymphomas among countries. The distribution of the sites of extranodal NHLs also differs in various geographic areas. Primary extranodal lymphoma rate was similar with the data published in the over the world. Advanced stage, high-intermediate and high risk according to IPI score, nodal disease, bone marrow involvement, hemoglobin level <10 g/dl, presence of B semptoms is associated with a shorter overall survival Conclusion: Datas were consistent with the literature. Review of treatment protocols which can be changed according to specificity of our community are needed. Therefore, the development of national cancer registration system must be configured and also reliable
