Abstract (EN)
Nonylphenol is among the most widely used and exposed endocrine disruptors. Although there are many studies on the carcinogenic effects of endocrine disruptors, there are few studies covering their anticancer effects. For this purpose, the cytotoxic and apoptotic effects of Nonylphenol were investigated in human malignant melanoma (G-361) cell line. Cytotoxicity measurement was studied in the environmental dose range and exposure time of 48 hours was evaluated. It was observed that the cytotoxicity decreased in a dose-dependent manner. Apoptosis was assessed using real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) at the gene level. As a result of 48 hours of exposure; An increase in the levels of the apoptotic genes P53, Bax and Caspase-3, and a decrease in the gene levels of P21 and the antiapoptotic gene BcL-2 were observed. As a result, it was observed that Nonylphenol had an apoptotic effect on the G-361 cell line at the determined doses and at the end of the determined exposure time. Findings obtained after the study show that Nonylphenol induces apoptosis with the intracellular pathway and is effective at the gene level.
