Socio-economic status of dairy, Dort, Karapınar, Nefsi Kasaba, In, Gedil and Deresinek Villages of İshaklı district of Akşehir Sanjak according to population and dividend records

One of the most important sources of income for the Ottoman Empire was taxes. With the Tanzimat, new regulations were made regarding taxes. In order to determine the a mount sand types, temettuat counts were made and made simpler and more under standable. The census records collected in the temettuat book provide information about the amount of assets, property, animals, land, agriculturalproducts, etc. ofthepeople in theregion. The aim of this study is to examine the socio-economic conditions of Mandıra, Dort, Karapınar, Nefsi Kasaba, İn, Gedil and Deresinek villages of İshaklı district, which is subject to Akşehir Sanjak of Konya province. In order to make an evaluation, transcripts of temmettuat record sand population registers are included in our study with table and graphicmethods. The scope of our study consists of the names of the heads of house holds, their nicknames, professions, types of taxespaid, income amount sand assets of tho sew holived in 1260/61 AH in the 7 villages we examined.
