Old Turkish Literature has been existing for centuries and it has been shaped by customs and traditions. Poems, which are the most remarkable heritage from this literature, have played a significant role in understanding all aspects of Old Turkish Literature. The study on these poems, which have really great artistic values, shed light on not only artistic life of that period but social, political and cultural aspects of that period as well.Mahir is poet who lived in 19th century. His real name is Numan Mahir. There are limited information about his life and literary fame in resources. He had two known literary work and one of it came up for our thesis.Our thesis include three parts. Firstly, Mahir?s life, literary fame and literary works. Secondly, versification and feature content of Mahir?s Divan and lastly text of his Divan. In the first part, Mahir?s life, personality, literary fame and his literary works had been trying to exposed with the help of his poetries and historical resources. In the second part, versification and feature content was analised.
