Özet (EN)
Numerical investigation of helicopters avionics bay cooling system is carried out. In the specified system, the avionic compartment receives fresh ambient air through a fan, which cools the equipment inside before expelling it back into the surroundings. The choice of fan and outlet locations can influence the distribution of hot zones around certain equipment. It is crucial for the fan to ensure a substantial cooling to effectively maintain the temperatures of the avionics equipment within acceptable limits. CFD analysis performed at the ground and at 8000 feet altitude to see the effects of altitude for cooling capacity. There are three different fans with three different cooling capacity is used to find the optimal one on the ground and the one which has most suitable about the cooling performance is used in the analysis at the 8000 feet. Moreover, three different outlet locations are used to find the effects of avionics bay cooling of changing the locations of outlet. The outlet locations used in the analysis are the floor wall, side wall and upper wall of the compartment. In conclusion the most suitable outlet locations and fan is found for the specified system.
