Nurettin Topçu and Aliya İzzetbegoviç's understanding of religion

Religious ideas and opinions of Topcu, who gives a unique meaning of his own to the understanding of Religion and Philosophy basing them on three main concepts as Rebellion, Movement and Will, and Aliya, who puts forward the idea of a third way through the idea of innovativeness against conservatives and modernists are the starting point of our thesis. We have determined our thesis topic based on these ideas of Topcu and Aliya. Although Aliya and Topcu are contemporaries, no communication exists between the two, such as exchanging ideas, meeting or conversation, and even correspondence. In addition to this, we found that although there were researches and studies on both, a joint study in which both of them were included does not exist. We wanted to discover both the understanding of religion and the common points of these two important thinkers on religion, who produced works on the dilemmas and solutions of the Islamic world, and wanted these two Islamic thinkers to guide today's researchers. For this purpose, we divided our thesis into three main parts: in the introduction, we analyzed the religion, philosophy, and philosophical understanding of the period they lived in; in the first chapter, we looked into Topcu's life, works, scientific personality and understanding of religion; in the second chapter, we examined Aliya's life, works, scientific personality and understanding of religion; and finally in the third chapter, we compared the religious understandings of Topcu and Aliya.
