Nurullah Genc’s world of poetry

Nurullah Genç, came to be known with his poems in Turkish literature after 1980’s. Genç, began to write poetry in his early youth. His first poems were published in various literary journals. Nurullah Genç has penned poems based upon religion, tradition and national sentiments as well as three novels and a number of academic works. The poet has also been interested in professional photography. In this study, we aim to describe the poetical world of Nurullah Genç, a poet who has had a firm place in the post-80’s Turkish poetry. This study mainly consists of four chapters. The first chapter accounts for Genç’s biography, family and literary personality. In the second chapter, the topics thematized in his poems are elaborated under different titles, such as emotion, image and meaning. The third one is dedicated to his literary language and style. In the fourth chapter, Genç’s poems are analysed in terms of rhythm and form
