Abstract (EN)

One of the elements that make it easier for individuals to adapt to the society they live in is values. Value transfer begins in the family and continues in schools. Value transfer in schools is carried out starting from primary school. It is aimed to provide students with the ten root values that came into force in the 2018 Social Studies Curriculum during the education and training process in schools. Ten root values determined by the Ministry of National Education; They are stated as justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism and helpfulness. Different methods and techniques are used to impart root values to students. Literary works are an important source of transferring root values. In this study, it is aimed to examine the speech written by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in terms of root values. Speech, which is the subject of the study, was examined with the qualitative research method. Document analysis method was used in the study. The findings obtained as a result of the document analysis were analyzed using the content analysis method. As a result of the study, it was determined that all ten root values were included in Nutuk. The most respect, patriotism and responsibility in the work; It was observed that the root values of patience, helpfulness and honesty were included at least. Accordingly, it can be suggested that Speech can be used as an auxiliary source in the transfer of root values.
