Evaluation of OECD countries with health expenditure and health performance indicators

Access to and quality of health services are key measures of a country's health system. Comparison of health policies and systems implemented in different countries has the potential to provide important managerial insights. This study evaluates the health expenditures and accessibility of health services in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries with certain indicators in order to guide policy makers and health managers by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of health systems. In this study, an analysis method based on quantitative data was used to evaluate the indicators of health expenditures and access to health services of OECD countries. The data were obtained from the OECD Stat database and COCOSO and Promethee methods, which are multi-criteria decision-making methods, were used for the analysis. As a result of the analyses on health expenditures and access to health services indicators of OECD member countries, significant differences and similarities between different countries were identified. These analyses revealed the strengths and weaknesses in health systems and provided important clues for the development of health policies. This study provides a framework for comparing the health systems of different countries and identifying areas for improvement. Keywords: Health system, Accessibility, Spending, CoCoSo, Promethee.
