Abstract (EN)

Many studies have been carried out on Index Modulated Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM-IM), which is one of the candidate transmission techniques for beyond 5G (Fifth Generation) communication systems. All Index Modulated OFDM (OFDM-AIM) technique is a technique developed to increase the spectral efficiency of OFDM-IM. While there are empty sub-carriers in the OFDM-IM technique, all sub-carriers are activated in the OFDM-AIM technique. In this thesis study, a sub-block set design based on the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed to improve the bit error rate (BHO) performance of OFDM-AIM (PSO-OFDM-AIM). In the proposed PSO-OFDM-AIM technique, the data bits are evaluated as possible matching points with the entire QAM constellation space in order to increase the diversity gain, while in the OFDM-AIM technique, they are matched only with the QAM constellation points. In the PSO-OFDM-AIM technique, the matching pattern with the highest fitness value is determined by the PSO algorithm and a sub-block set is created. PSO-OFDM-AIM technique in simulation studies; Other techniques in the literature are OFDM, OFDM-IM, OFDM-AIM, coordinate interleaved OFDM-IM (KS-OFDM-IM), Ant Colony Optimization algorithm based OFDM-AIM (KKO-OFDM-AIM) and Artificial Bee Colony algorithm based It was compared with OFDM-AIM (YAK-OFDM-AIM) techniques. 2024, xv+56 Page Keywords: Wireless communication systems, OFDM, OFDM-IM, OFDM-AIM, Intelligent optimization techniques, Pso
