Özet (EN)

The building facade in the office buildings to be designed is associated with solar radiation. Solar control is an inevitable requirement for energy consumption. The designed shading elements must be designed with the type of glass, glass-to-wall ratio and orientation of the structure to meet the expected performance. The aim of this thesis is to propose an approach that allows designed shading elements in office buildings to be evaluated with the type of glass, glass-to-wall ratio, and site orientation. It is also to develop a new approach using statistical methods. Regression analysis using simulation results is applied to this approach where multiple parameters are evaluated together. At the same time, an energy prediction tool that uses regression equation is designed. In the result of the thesis, it is seen that the characteristics of glass type, glass-to-wall ratio, site orientation and shading element are effective parameters in total energy consumption. In the use of shading elements, the change in the glass types affects energy consumption more than other parameters. Furthermore, obtained regression equation and practical energy prediction tool design allows a holistic assessment in the pre-design of the shading elements at building facade to be designed and can be used to estimate the total energy consumption.
