The Effect of educationgiven by group guidance on anger control skill levels of students in the second year of elementary school

ABSTRACT In this study, the effect of education given by group guidance on anger control skill levels of students in the second year of elementary school was reviewed. For this reason, the spring mid-term of 1998-1999 school year, continous anger and anger expression manner scale were applied to 450 students studying in the second year of private and public elementary schools in Bolu's central county. To grade or score a sub-scale, the arithmetic mean of the scores obtained from the group of 450 cases or persons was found. It was accepted that the students with the scores above the mean had low anger control skill levels. Two experiment and control group of 15 persons or cases among the voluntary students, wanting to join in this study, with high anger level or low anger control skill levels were formed. The education regarding skills by group guidance was applied to the case groups for 10 weeks. There was nothing done on control group. At the end of education by group guidance and after the one month period following the earlier, continous anger and anger expression manner scale were again applied to case and control groups. ANOVA was put into work in comparing pre-test, last test, results for repetitive results. In this study. In this study, at the end of the education related to skills given by group guidance, it was observed that, the increase in anger control skill level kept going on after a follow-up one month period.
