Selection of the subcontactor by using the fuzzy vikor method and an application at student and personnel transportation company

The competitive conditions around the world have had a great deal of impact on various sectors and businesses. These enterprises had to change their strategies and functional structures. Factors such as security, high quality, efficiency, diversity, flexibility and speed have become important factors in order to create competitiveness. Student and staff transport is one of the leading sectors in service production. The increase in the options and the quality of the services offered vary in each firm. These differences make decision makers difficult to choose. For this reason, decision makers are expected to make the most appropriate decision considering the company's interests and limitations in the decision process. In terms of firms, subcontractor selection is a Multi-Criteria Decision Making problem which requires many qualitative and quantitative criteria. Decision-making is a process of realizing the purpose of finding the best choice that offers conciliatory solutions through glazing appropriate alternatives. The aim of this study is; Considering the multiple conflicting criteria of the problem, the focus is on ordering alternatives and providing conciliatory solutions. The availability of more than one technique to solve the problem has been proven in the determination of criteria and alternatives. One of the most common of these techniques is FUZZY VIKOR method. In this study, it is aimed to be selected from 5 different subcontractors who are planned to be employed in the student transportation service. VIKOR method is used to select the most suitable subcontractor for this company. The results of the implementation of the VIKOR method were decided to choose the most suitable subcontractor for the company. The applied FUZZY VIKOR method used Microsoft Excel for the calculations.
