The students' perceptions on the country image of the United States of America: A study on the Inönü University students

It is possible to define an image as a judgment, an impression and an evaluation of an individual, an institution or a country as a result of various observations, experiences and processes over time. Whether it is consciously or unconsciously developed, every person has an image of each institution and every country reflects outside. The image of the country, expressed as the personal beliefs people make regarding a country as they know it and think about it, is a combination of many features such as the economic, political, cultural, social, geographical, historical, artistic. After globalization and technological developments, the image of the country has become an important concept in the global competition environment. In particular, the role that countries play in acquiring and gaining reputation in the international arena has been increasing day by day. A questionnaire was made to measure the perceptions of the students of Inonu University on the image of the United States of America. As a result of the study, it was determined that the perceptions of the students of Inonu University on country image of the United States are moderate. In addition, the students of İnönü University were found that they have negative perceptions about the United States' foreign policy, internal policy, negative foreign policy and quality life, positive perceptions about social cultural structure and nearly positive perceptions about the economy.
