Findings: While the mean score of the students with positive self-concept perceptions in the smoking benefit subdimension is 7.12 ± 2.18, that of the students with negative self-concept perceptions is 8.61 ± 3.76 (p=0.000). On the other hand, while the mean score of the students having positive self-concept perceptions in the smoking harm subdimension is 29.01 ± 2.47, that of the students having negative self-concept perceptions is 28.11 ± 3.49 (p=0.004). Whereas the mean score of the students regarding themselves to be successful is 7.81 ± 3.13 in the smoking benefit subdimension, the mean score of the students regarding themselves to be unsuccessful is 8.27 ± 3.39 (p=0.333). The mean score of the students considering themselves to be successful is 28.47 ± 3.19 in the smoking harm subdimension while that of the students considering themselves to be unsuccessful is 29.01 ± 2.05 (p=0.235).
