Öğrencilerin ödev öz-düzenleme becerileri: Yozgat'taki farklı kademelerden öğrenciler örneği

This study investigated the self-regulation skills of students at different education levels, from secondary school to university, in English course homework. Students studying in secondary and high schools in Yozgat City Center and university students studying at Yozgat Bozok University were included in this study. A total of 750 middle school, 750 high school, and 1,067 university students participated in the study and completed the Student Homework Scale. A mixed method comprising qualitative and quantitative analyses was used in this study. In the semi-structured interview form, 15 questions were asked to measure students' perceptions of English homework; these interviews were conducted one-on-one. A demographic information form and the subscales obtained from modeling the "Student Homework Scale," which consists of eight sub-dimensions and uses a 5-point Likert scale, was used as the quantitative data collection tool for this research. The data obtained in this study were analyzed using SPSS 20.0. A t-test for independent samples, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) test, and correlation analysis were applied. The MAXQDA 2020 package program was used for the content analysis of qualitative data. Confirmatory factor analysis was included in the study. The results of this study provide insights into how self-regulation skills in English language learning vary across different educational levels. The findings also highlight the key factors influencing students' homework behaviors and their overall language proficiency. Furthermore, this research contributes to the development of targeted strategies to enhance self-regulation skills in language learning.
