The evaluation of values education practices in Presidency of Religious Affairs 4-6 years quran courses in the context of teachers' views

In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the practices of values education in the Qur'an courses of 4-6 years of Presidency of Religious Affairs in the context of tutorial views. In accordance with the aim of the study, a holistic single case pattern was used from qualitative research methods. The study group of the research consists of 20 Quranic course instructors who work in Kâğıthane district of Istanbul province in the fall-spring semester of 2018-2019 and take values education courses. As a data collection tool, a prepared interview form in accordance with the semi-structured interview technique was used. Participants participated in this study on a voluntary basis to contribute to the field. The data collected through semi-structured interviews were analyzed through descriptive analysis. Data obtained from the analysis shows that in the values education study conducted by PoRA, it is seen that the teachers are aware of their own shortcomings and strive for it. In Values education and training love, respect, mercy, thankfulness, Justice, Homeland-nation love as well as the love of Allah, Prophet love issues are covered. It has been concluded that the curriculum has not been extended that the parents were forced from the aspect and perceived problem of values education, values education study is a much needed and delayed study in preschool and it should be developed and implemented in all educational institutions. According to the teachers, the program is sufficient, but there are subjects that are heavy on the children. Stories, songs and games should be reviewed once again to be replicated and prepared in a more entertaining way for the 4-to 6-year-olds. It is observed that the teachers are demanding to attend seminars on training and in-service training on a regular basis. The teachers stated that the values education program implemented by the PoRT should be developed and expanded rapidly within the MoNE. Keywords: 4-6 Years Old Qoran Courses, Values Education
