Abstract (EN)

Purpose: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between sub-dimensions of healthy lifestyle and life quality and to reveal this based on instructor's gender and status at Celal Bayar University. Material and Method: Population of the study is comprised of 1585 instructors and sample of the study is comprised of 277 (119 female, 158 Male) volunteer instructors who accept to fill out questionnaire at ManisaCelal Bayar University. Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale II was used in order to specify instructors' healthy lifestyle behaviors and SF-36 (Short Form -36, Questionnaire of Life Quality Assessment) was used in order to specify Life Qualities of instructors. Data obtained from the questionnaires was analyzed with SPSS 18.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 18.0). The significance level for all tests was (p<,05) and (p<,01). While analyzing the data, Percentage, Frequency, Tukey Test, ANOVA and Correlation Analysis were used. Findings: According to the findings, of the instructors surveyed, (% 81,9) do not join recreative activities and (%72,9) do not join Physical activites. Total SYBD II Score of instructors participating in this survey is (131,10+19,97). It was determined that Highest Score average of instructors (Male, Female) was moral development while lowest score average was sub-dimension of physical activity. When life quality levels were taken into account according to gender,It was determined that Male instructors' physical health scores(81,76+14,09) and mental health scores(70,47+18,32) were higher than female instructors'. It is seen that avarage of Female instructors' interpersonel relations, nutrition and sub-dimensions is higher than male instructors. It was found that there was sitatistically significant difference in general health sub-dimensions between instructors and lecturers working as Associate professors at Manisa Celal Bayar University. When correlation rates among SYBD II sub-dimensions are examined, It is comfirmed that there is positive and strong relation (r=,800; p<,01) between Stress Management's sub-dimensions and total SYBD II score. There is a significant relation statistically between each sub-dimensions of SYBD II and sub-dimensions of General Health, Vitality and Mental . Conclusion: As a Consequence of this study; we found out that stress management which is a sub-dimension of lifestyle behaviors has a strong relation with instructors' life quality.
