Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the ethical leadership behaviours of school administrators and organizational culture based on teacher perceptions. An ethical leadership scale including 44 items with four sub-dimensions developed by Yılmaz (2006) and an organizational culture scale including 48 items with four sub-dimensions developed by Fırat (2007) were used in order to collect data. There are seven sub-problems in this study. 1057 teachers from 86 formal primary schools, secondary schools, high schools and vocational high schools in the centre and districts of Duzce participated in this study. Percentage statistics, frequency, arithmetic mean and standard deviations of the obtained data were calculated through SPSS 21.00, and t-test was used for binary devations while ANOVA was used for multiple variables. For relational analysis correlation was used; for predication regression analysis was used. The results of the study indicate that there is no significant difference in the perception of school principals as ethical leaders by teachers based on branch, gender, marital status, age, the type of school, years of experience and affiliated school. Similarly, there is no significant difference in teachers' perception of organizational culture based on gender, marital status and years of experience in school; however, there is a significant difference in teachers' perception of organizational culture based on branch, age, the type of school and years of teaching experience. In addition, there is a significant positive correlation between school principals' ethical leadership conducts and organizational culture. Regression analysis reveals that ethical leadership is a strong predictor of organizational culture. The results of the study also suggest that the more ethical conducts school principals exhibit, the higher the teachers' organizational culture perceptions get.
