Discrimination in schools according to teacher's opinions

In this study, the opinions and discrimination situations of teachers working at primary, secondary and high school levels about the discrimination they encounter in schools are examined. In the study group of the research, there are 72 teachers working in Malatya province, Yeşilyurt district and 16 teachers who participated in the focus group interview. This study, in which qualitative research methods were used, was conducted in a phenomenological design. In order to obtain the data, a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher and a focus group interview method consisting of 2 groups of 8 people were used. The data were first classified by making contentanalysis and the findings were evaluated in line with the emerging themes. According to the results of the research, although the teachers have ideas about the concept of discrimination, it is seen that they give more hesitant answers about whether the institutions they work for are managed fairly, and that the personal who are exposed to discrimination generally experience discrimination in terms of curriculum and course selection. In addition, it has been stated that people who have been discriminated against may feel excluded, marginalized, upset and different. The teachers who participated in the research stated that the administrators should be selected according to their merits and have a sense of justice in order to eliminate discrimination.
