The effect of teacher leadership training program on the leadership skills of master instructors and teachers at non-formal education institutions: An embedded mixed methods research

Primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of "Teacher Leadership" training program on the leadership skills of master instructors and teachers at non-formal education institutions. In the study, the "Teacher Leadership" training program including 25 activities was applied by the researcher to the participants in the experimental group two days a week for 8 weeks. Teacher Leadership Scale and an interview form were used as data collection tools in the study. After the retention tests were filled in, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the participants synchronously. SPSS 21.0 packaged software was used in the analysis of the study data. In order to compare the scores obtained by the participants from the pretests, posttests and retention tests, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis and Wilcoxon signed rank test for repeated measures were used. When examining the effect of the Teacher Leadership" training program prepared to increase the teacher leadership skill levels of the participants on the teacher leadership skill levels of the teachers, it was seen that there was a significant increase in the leadership skill levels of the teachers in the experimental group.
