Efficiency of family education in service training presented by the direct instruction approach with teacher?s performance taken into consideration

The purpose of this study was to determine the influences of family education in service training presented by direct instruction approach programme over the teachers of mentally disabled in their parent education programme towards behavior control and whether they are effective in realization of programme targets and to determine the influence over their sustainability.To realize the aim of research, multiple probe design across subjects have been used from single subject experimental designs.The subjects of research are the three principal and one supplementary graduates of universities? special training departments? mentally disabled division.In order to collect the data of research, the below advancement record tables and application reliability forms have been devised and applied; ?Parent Education Planning Measuring Device?, to determine the levels of writing and presentation of concept and operation for in service education programme, ?The Check List for Noting the Presentation of Concepts and Operations in Parent Education Programme?, to determine the levels of presentation for concept and operation. The teaching materials have been prepared and applied by the researcher to the teachers with their teaching performance of in service education presented with direct instruction approach.For the analysis of data obtained in the research, the graphical analysis has been used.The impression has been obtained that the application of family education in service training presented by the direct instruction approach with teacher?s performance taken into consideration over the teachers, graduated from the mentally disabled training programme with first, second and third degrees has shown that it has been efficient over to the skills of teachers? planning of parent education and the skills of presentation of concepts and operations along with the writing and reading skills in parent education programme, by well over %75 of criteria level.It has also been observed that the application of family education in service training presented by the direct instruction approach with teacher?s performance taken into consideration on the teachers, graduated from the mentally disabled training programme with first, second and third degrees, after 14 days of the completion of training, has been efficient over to the skills of teachers? planning of parent education and the skills of presentation of concepts and operations along with the writing and reading skills in parent education programme, by well over %75 of criteria level.Keywords : In Service Training Programme, Parent Education Programme for Behavior Control
