The mediation role of transformational leadership and an application in the effect of organizational stress on organizational synism in teachers

The aim of this study is to reveal the mediating role of transformational leadership in the relationship between organizational stress and organizational cynicism of teachers working in central districts of Balıkesir. The universe of the research is 986 teachers working in 19 schools in the central districts of Balıkesir. As the data collection tool used in the study, Barandes Dharwadker and Dean (1999) "organizational cynicism scale" Theorel et al. (1988) adapted the "organizational stress" scale to Turkish (Üzüm vd., 2011) and the "leadership scale" developed by B.M.Bass and J. Avoli (1992). Reliability analysis, frequency analysis, normality test, exploratory factor analysis, multiple correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were performed. Multiple correlation and hierarchical regression analysis were applied. The multiple correlation analysis was performed with the intention of determining the relationship between organizational stress, organizational cynicism and transformational leadership. The hierarchical regression analysis applied with the intermediary variable was performed with the intention to determine the relationships between variables. As a result of the regression analysis; It has been determined that there is a negative relationship between organizational stress and transformational leadership perception, there is a positive relationship between organizational stress and organizational cynicism. In addition, the partial mediating role of transformational leadership in the relationship between organizational stress and organizational cynicism has been determined.
