Psychological violence (mobbing) aganist teachers: İstanbul Arnavutköy sample

The aim of this research is to determine the level of exposure to psychological violence(mobbing) against teachers working in primary, secondary and high schools, what kind of reactions they show when they expose to psychological violence and who acts psychological violence. The teachers working in the 73 schools belonging to The Ministry of National Education in Arnavutkoy district constitute the population of this research. The 177 teachers (88 female, 89 male) out of the 1383 teachers working in the schools in Arnavutkoy district constitutes the sample of the research. SPSS 17, 0 (Statistical Programme for Social Sciences) packaged programme has been used for research analysis and the results found have been interpreted at the 0,05 significance level. While Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient has been used for security analysis, frequency and percentage analysis, independent sample t-test, one way ANOVA test and Tukey test has been used for sample analysis. The research reveals that the level of psychological violence against teachers is outrageous in the district, these behaviours are exhibited by school principals or colleagues and serious precautions are required.
