Analysing the cognitive flexibility levels of teachers according to certain demographic features and the cognitive flexibilty level of students

The purpose of this study is to analyze whether there are significant differences between the cognitive flexibility levels of teachers according to certain demographic features and the cognitive flexibility levels of the students. The samplings of this research are composed of 211 female and 127 male students whose age ranges are between 13-19, the total student number is 338 and 185 female and 153 male teachers who are at the age of 20-50+, the total teacher number is 338. So the total student and teacher number are 776. The samplings of this search were carried out in 7 secondary schools and in 8 high schools found in Adana; Çukurova, Seyhan, Sarıçam and Yüreğir districts by the way of using Stratified and Random Methods with regard to the ratios on the universe. "Cognitive Flexibility Measurement" was used in order to determine the cognitive flexibility scores of the people who attended to this study. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) 22.0 Programme. In the interpretation of the data, some descriptive statistical methods such as; number, percentage, average, standard deviation were used. One-way analyzes of variance was carried out in order to determine whether there is a difference between the cognitive flexibility scores averages of the students and the cognitive flexibility levels of teachers and two factor variance analysis were carried out in order to determine whether there is a common effect on the cognitive flexibility scores of the students and the cognitive flexibility level of the teachers and their gender, age, year of seniority and branches. No significant difference was found between the cognitive flexibility scores averages of the students and the cognitive flexibility levels of the teachers who attended to this research. No significant difference was found between the cognitive flexibility scores of the students and the cognitive flexibility level and gender of the teachers who attended to this research. No significant difference was found on the cognitive flexibility and gender interaction. As a result of the research no significant difference was found between the cognitive flexibility scores of the students and the cognitive flexibility level and age of the teachers. Again no significant difference was found on the cognitive flexibility and age interaction. As a result of the research no significant difference was found between the cognitive flexibility scores of the students and the cognitive flexibility level and branches of the teachers. Again no significant difference was found on the cognitive flexibility and branch interaction. As a result of this research, no significant difference was found on the cognitive flexibility scores of the students and the cognitive flexibility level and year of seniority of the teachers. And again no significant difference was found on the cognitive flexibility and year of seniority interaction. Key Words: Cognitive Flexibility, Adolescent, Teacher
