Analysis by various variables of acceptance and usage intentions related to information and communication technologies of teachers

The aim of this study is to determine the acceptance and usage intentions related to information and communication technologies of teachers. The study was conducted with the data obtained from 550 teachers working at Primary School, Middle School and High School in Elazığ city center in 2016-2017 academic year. The research was conducted in 30 public schools in which the teachers worked on different branches. The research was done according to the screening model. The data of the study were collected using the "Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology" (UTAUT) scale developed by Koca ve Usluel (2007) and the personal information survey developed by the researchers. In this study, 4 factors of scale were used: intention, perceived usefulness, social factors, anxiety. The coefficient reliability of the scale applied to sample group was calculated as 0,90 with Cronbach Alpha. In analysis Kruskal Wallis H test was used in the comparisons of three groups and over parameters of scale sub-dimension points no showing a normal dispersion along with defining statistical methods (Average, Standard deviation, frequency). On the other hand, the Mann Whitney U test was used in two-group assessments. The analyses of the data are made in SPSS 15.0 program. The data of the study were analyzed according to the variables of the acceptance and usage of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) usage by teachers and their school levels, seniorities, branches, graduated faculty, in-service training or not. It is found that while the acceptance and usage intentions of teachers is significantly different according to their seniorities, branches, in-service training; no significant difference was found according to school levels, graduated faculty. The findings were discussed and integrated with other research findings. Key Words: ICT, Technology, Education, Teacher
